UV Lights — Inside the Air Handler
Installed inside the air handler, near the evaporator coil and drain pan.
Your evaporator coil sits damp and dark inside the air handler — exactly where mold and bacteria like to grow. A UV-C light shines directly on the coil and nearby internal surfaces, helping inhibit mold and bacterial growth and the biofilm buildup that coats them.
Keeping the coil cleaner supports airflow and system efficiency and can help reduce musty, microbial odors coming from the unit.
What it is — and isn't: this is mainly an equipment and surface treatment that works where the light shines. It does not remove dust and it does not replace your air filter — keep changing the filter on schedule. Like any lamp, UV lamps need periodic replacement to stay effective.
