Construction type changes how much cooling a home needs — a mobile home heats up faster than a well-insulated house.

Not sure? If there's a unit outside and a separate unit blowing air inside, it's a split system. If everything lives in one big box outside, it's a package unit.
Installation is priced by the air handler's orientation — vertical vs. horizontal — not just its location, and the two orientations carry different installation prices. Attic units are horizontal and closet units are vertical; a garage unit can be either, so we ask one follow-up for garages.
Apartments and condos usually have one of two air handler types — these are mainly found in condos and apartments, not houses. Pick the one that matches yours, or pick "Not sure" and we'll confirm it on the visit.
This sets the install orientation, and orientation is what the installation price follows — a hanging garage unit and a standing garage unit are priced differently.
One self-contained box outside. Nothing inside the home to replace — but slightly less efficient, and every repair happens outdoors.
Condenser outside, air handler inside. Quieter indoors, more efficiency options, and the most common setup in Florida homes. We're pricing a like-for-like replacement of what you have.
If you want to change from one type to the other (say, package to split), that involves ductwork changes — call us and we'll quote it properly in person.

This decides how your home heats in winter. Both cool exactly the same in summer — the difference is the heat.
The outdoor unit only cools. In winter, electric heat strips (like a giant toaster element) inside the air handler make heat. Cheaper to buy, but electric strip heat is the most expensive way to warm a home — fine for the handful of cold nights in our area, costly in a cold snap.
The same outdoor unit runs in reverse in winter, moving heat from outside air into your home instead of creating it. That makes it roughly 2–3× cheaper to run for heat than heat strips — and Florida's mild winters are exactly where heat pumps shine.
Bottom line: a heat pump costs a few hundred more up front and usually pays that back in lower winter electric bills. If your home rarely uses heat and budget is tight, straight cool is a perfectly good choice.
Pick one to continue — "not sure" is a fine answer.
Use the air-conditioned living area (don't count the garage). Drag the slider or type it in — your system size updates as you go.
Some homes are cooled by more than one system. This estimate prices one replacement system — tell us how many your home has so we know there's more to look at on the visit.
If you know your current unit's size, pick it here and we'll size your estimate to that unit instead of the square footage. Have more than one unit? Enter the size of the one you're replacing. Not sure? Just leave it on "Not sure" and we'll size from your square footage.
In Florida's heat and humidity, the rule of thumb is roughly 1 ton of cooling per 500 sq ft — so a 1,500 sq ft home lands around 3 tons. We then adjust for your home type: mobile homes lose cool air faster (sized up a step), and apartments share walls with neighbors (sized down a step).
Variable-speed sizing: variable-speed units are made in whole-ton sizes only — 2, 3, 4, or 5 ton, with no half sizes. If your home calculates to a half size (for example 2.5 ton), the variable-speed options in your estimate round up to the next whole ton (3 ton).
A ton is 12,000 BTU of cooling per hour. Bigger is not better: an oversized system short-cycles, leaves the air humid, and wears out early. Before any install, we confirm sizing in person — ceiling height, insulation, windows, and sun exposure all move the real number, and a proper load calculation (Manual J) is the final word.
Add your home's square footage above, or pick the size of the unit you have now — we need at least one of the two to size your estimate.
Here's the system size your home points to. Each price below is the installed total for that option — shown as an estimate to be confirmed at the free in-home visit.

Each total above is the installed total for a like-for-like replacement. The included list below matches the installation for your setup — vertical, horizontal, and package installations include different things. Permit is included in all of them.
None of these are in the ranges above. If any of them come up on your job, we'll point them out at the free in-home visit and they'll be spelled out in your firm written price before any work starts — no surprises after the fact.
How to read this: each total is the installed total from our current price book for that line, size, and setup. It's an estimate, not a firm quote: your locked-in price comes after a free in-home visit, because the items listed under "What could change the price" above can only be confirmed in person. Financing is available on approved credit — ask when you call.
